Quay Forum
A waterfront concept study exploring the relationship between city, water and public space through stacked concrete volumes and an open ground level.

Quay Forum is a self-initiated concept study that treats the waterfront as a public threshold between architecture, city and water.
The building is formed by a sequence of monolithic concrete volumes shifting in different directions. These offsets create changing orientations and views across the upper levels while allowing the ground floor to remain more open and publicly accessible.
The visualization emphasizes the sculptural quality of the architecture without isolating it from its setting. The promenade, human scale and waterline place the building within an urban context, while the warm interior at ground level creates a restrained focal point against the cooler exterior palette.
The study explores mass, balance, public space and the visual relationship between architecture and the waterfront.
Purpose
To explore how shifting monolithic volumes can create a public waterfront threshold, combining changing orientations above with an open and accessible ground level.
Visual decisions
A vertical composition was chosen to reinforce the movement and height of the stacked volumes. The large area of sky is deliberately used as negative space, balancing the visual weight of the concrete masses.
The camera sits low enough to communicate monumentality without relying on excessive perspective distortion. A warm ground-floor interior becomes the primary focal point against the cooler concrete, sky and water palette, while human figures establish scale and suggest public activity along the waterfront.
Outcome
A visual study balancing the weight of monolithic architecture with the openness of public waterfront life, allowing the building to be read in relation to the city, people and water.
